To mark the start of Changunarayan Nagarkot Day Hiking, a descent down the hillock of Nagarkot past the terraced hills. It leads you to reach the cultural Tamang village, another attraction in today’s hike. Also, witnessing the villagers preparing the local wine and observe the remote lifestyle of the village close to the capital city of Kathmandu. While on the other side of our hike, we head towards the Changunarayan Temple. On this trail we hike through the ridge that is rich in a deciduous forest. Enjoying the marvelous view of the mountains in the distance, overlooking the trail undisturbed and quaint, we reach the temple of Changunarayan. The temple has high religious and historical significance. The total duration of our hiking is of about 4-5 hours. In this way, after the exploration of this ancient temple of around 325 AD, we drive back to Kathmandu calling it a day.
