The highlight for many on the  Langtang Valley Trek is reaching the ancient Kyanjin Gompa (3,870m), surrounded by towering snow-capped peaks and home to centuries-old Buddhist traditions.

From Kyanjin, side trips lead you into the pristine wilderness of  Langtang National Park, a biodiversity hotspot where over 1,000 species of plants, 160 species of birds, and rare wildlife such as the elusive red panda, Himalayan black bear, snow leopard, musk deer, and the colorful Danphe (Nepal’s national bird) call home.
